Yury Li-Toroptsov is a Franco-Russian photographer and certified professional coach based in Paris, France. Born in a rural community near Vladivostok, Russia, he left his native country in 1998 to study in New York after receiving a prestigious scholarship. He holds a Master of Science in Non-Profit Management from the New School for Social Research and an Advanced Certificate in Coaching, Leadership & Change from ESSEC Business School in Paris.

As a photographer, Li-Toroptsov has exhibited internationally at venues like the Maison Européenne de la Photographie (2008), Paris Photo (2008) and the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris (2015). Notable projects include Marilyn and I, Deleted Scene, and The House of Baba Yaga, with publications like Deleted Scene earning recognition, such as a shortlist for the Prix du Livre d'Auteur Arles 2015 and the German Photo Book Prize 2016. In 2014, he was named the Archisle International Photographer in Residence in Jersey.

Li-Toroptsov is also a Jungian analyst-in-training at the CG Jung Institute in Zurich and has developed an innovative coaching technique Coaching par l’image®. The method uses mobile photography to foster personal and professional development, helping individuals and teams navigate change, creativity, and identity through image-based workshops. He works with institutional clients like the Centre Pompidou, LVMH, Hermès, Beaux Arts & Cie, and EDF, and is an accredited member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), adhering to its ethical standards.

He is also a podcaster, hosting Image is Psyche, and continues to explore the psyche through art projects, including collecting dreams for creative work.
